Poem

The voyage that I started when I was just two,
When , the sea I was entering, seemed new.
To the sea of dreams, I was exposed.
They say , it was for me to be forged,
To be forged into something shiny,
And for that I couldn’t be whiny.

The sea seemed huge and limitless,
And I was sailing through it effortless.
But the sea was filled with people like me,
Everyone’s face sparkled with an impish glee.
They are my companions and have always been,
I could never forget even a single face that I have seen.
We played , we fought , we laughed , we talked.
We cried , we slept , we bunked. We mocked.
Everyone on the same voyage to the same mission.
In the sea of dreams , we were all alone.
Yet together in every tide , high or low.
In every feeling, happiness or sorrow.

Throughout my expedition I switched many ships,
And encountered the different shades of the trip.
The captains and the crew were my biggest support.
The ones who showed me the way to my port.
Some felt strict, some friendly, some seemed dangerous, others quiet,
But the position they’ll have in my life will always be the highest.

With a blink of an eye , this expedition completed its 16 years,
And apparently it’s time for me to change my gears,
Because they say , this sea has reached its horizon,
And its time to face the sea’s new and bigger version.
Every companion will face a new sea,
Some far away while some with me.
The 16 years that I’ll never ever forget,
But apparently for now it’s the end , the best ; my last set.
