Poem
Children Of Men Cruel intentions are all that I get from you, Looking out over the city that never sleeps. I come from the mountains where I can breathe in the air, Into the sewer that you call your home. ‘I don’t think it’s a good idea’ Is all that I hear from you and your kind. I can't walk on water, I can’t part a sea, I can't leap over tall buildings, It doesn’t matter what you want I will always only be me. It’s hard for me to look at you, He had your eyes too. I can't walk away from the lies, Or remember when times were good. Hold your hands up to the sky and pray, Were only children of men? I don’t want to remember, I don’t want to forget, I don’t want to look for the answer, And it doesn’t matter if the river runs dry, I will always only be me. Where can I go, now I have seen what you see? I didn’t really know what I was fighting for. Help me to decide if I am wrong or right, I don’t know who my friends are anymore. My mind exploded when I saw her face, I can never forget what I have seen. I will not look for the answers, I will not ask any questions, I don’t really know where to look anymore. It doesn’t matter if they know where I have been I will always only be me. The sound of the playground has faded, Despair set in quicker than you could see. What happens tomorrow, if tomorrow isn’t there? Are all our yesterday’s just memories on the wind? I didn’t want to be there at the end But you tell me that I will be there in the beginning. I can see the darkness, I can see the light, I can see the uprising But it doesn’t matter if there are holes in my life I will always only be me. And we shall live again.
