Poem
Lies are bad, lies are sad, Lies can kill, lies will make you mad Lies will find away to come back out Break your heart, now let's bring you back to the start Born into a house of lies, you could see it in all their eyes Fake smiles, questions brushed to the side If only she didn't tell that lie I asked at 4, who's my dad? I knew by her face I'd made her mad She told me he died the day I was born We never spoke of him no more Until one day I turned 18, A drunken party was the scene She sat me down , now the story must begin "He is not dead you see, I Iied to protect me Protect you too, from that nasty man The one your so keen to call your dad" A faded picture was now what I had All these lies made me feel mad A mental breakdown did insue, All these lies had broken through Time went on and I got stronger Always knowing one day I would find The hole in my heart, A dad shaped size Health issues had always plaqued my mind His genes I have, they've gone astray All because of the lie that day Married now and heading away, One more thing I had to say I found my dad, a bad man that much is true Health issues too, even after all I'd been through Heart problems plague his family His genes I carry, now filled with worry Heart attacks by 39... By passess too if your that way inclined A bad man yes that he may be But through all their lies they didn't see me The innocent one in all this strife All these lies have shaped my life Today I had a call you see, A cardiologist to speak to me "I'm sorry Mrs, but we have to say Your valves are faulty, his genes at play A heart attack is almost certain You might not see the age of 40" So as I sit here writing this I think not of all the things iv missed Instead I think of what may have been If through all the lies I had been seen It never had to be this way If she's didn't lie that fateful day My life may now be at its end A treacherous lie my last friend Iv got his genes, now they have gone astray I might not live to see another day But while I'm here let it be known No good can come from lies at home Lies are bad, lies are sad Lies will cut a family in half Lies have broken my heart The mess left for me to pick up If only she hadn't lied that day If only she had loved me enough to keep me safe I love her with all my heart But she's broken mine and now I'm dust. Lies will turn everything black Lies will stab you in the back A Tear from my eye has just fallen Lies did that..my heart is broken ??
