Voice of a doctor For Justice A doctor, I am and was my father’s dear daughter, pearl of mother’s eyes my brother’s very heart, not meant for such severe torture or heinous manslaughter, I lie wasted; Of years of those buiguels to treat both as equals be it daughters or sons, Many slogans raised and so many puns, All hopes crashed I lie in stash. Me and my brother were loved alike, raised alike, Rather I excelled more in every field and wore that pure white; White that has the power to save, To serve, to heal, that I draped with great zeal; Never did I know or could imagine, Such monstrous men in the society, Who killed my very soul While I was saving them, their mothers, fathers wives and kids; Did their fathers not teach them right, or the mothers failed to groom, Sick mindset of our people, Such disrespect for the better sex, killing instincts, murder to the highest degree; Why should we the mothers, not kill these monsters inside our wombs, why our hearts should not shake, In anticipation of the unexpected, Gruesome and unkind minds of the mankind; Why the suffering to that extent be, without any fault of mine, And that too while on duty, My hospital my temple Isn’t any safe, No more what it used to be; Wake up wake up You, the custodians of the society, You, the government, You, the sacristans, Wake up wake up You my leaders You my colleagues You my patients You my neighbours You the poor You the rich You everyone Wake up wake up All the anarchics All the powerful All the boneless The merciless society, For today it’s me, Tomorrow it will be you; For I have been forced to turn red tinged in my own very blood, My life at stake How can I save lives, My honour Like molten gold went down the drains, A wishful life in lust wasted; Are you not in disguise, For sake of your own wise, Must raise some hue and cry, Raise your voice against these goons, Don’t let go the brutal sacrifice, and proved be befoons; If not now then when ? till every home does have it ? till no girl is left to mother? putting an end to your very birth, existence and humanity ? With umpteen hopes, I am holding you high, Don’t let any of us, Pay such a huge price, Turn everything Upside down, Roar for justice At pitch so high, Shudder this earth, Shake the sky, Throb hearts out, Convulse your mind, Spasm the muscles, Till my enemy And thy enemy Quivers in fright.
