Poem

You threw me to the wolves
And I came back leading them
You stole my diamond ring and other things
But I had stopped needing them
You tried isolating me in a foreign city
But I attract more friends when I am alone
You locked me out of our bedroom not knowing
Your prison was never my home... 

You lifted your hand on me to silence my opinion
It only made my voice as a woman louder
You felt proud for treating me like I was your property
But leaving you made me feel prouder 

You tried turning me into your obedient slave
It only made my dominant side show
You made me do all the cooking alone
It made my reputation as hard working grow
You killed my joy by winning every battle
But by leaving you I won the war
You dumped all the housework on me not knowing 
Being married to you was my only real chore
