Poem
The first time I saw her face, dripping water from stands of dark brown hair, eyes bright and innocent, she spoke to me, telling me her name, date of birth, and the date of her baptism. Shirley Faye Jones born: April 09, 1952 Baptized: June 12, 1964 We have been inseparable ever since! As with any long relationship, we have some dry spells of course. On the whole, however, Shirley and I would spend long hours together. She would do most of the listening and I, full of wisdom and truth, did most of the talking. The next time she spoke to me was on her wedding day! Mr. and Mrs. Richard H. Hundley Married: April 05, 1969 There were many days of happiness and joy after that but also, tears and frustration. She would come to me most days for the comfort and love I offered. I met her husband as well and together they struggled through the early years of marriage. Shirley spoke to me often over the next several years, just look at what their union created! Oakley Richard, born: June 02, 1970 Richard Steven, born: Sept. 18, 1972 Selena June, born: May 25, 1974 Crystol Lynn, born: January 22, 1977 Marvin Curtis, born: February 15, 1979 She and I were in contact daily until 2001. Shirley was looking very ill, and although I gave her comfort and hope, in the end I could not offer her eternal life in the flesh. I did and do, however, offer life eternal in the Spirit! I was with her and her family as her spirit drifted away to Glory. This is what I said to comfort and remind them of the hope we have in Christ. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 KJV “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep(dead in the flesh), that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. [14] For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. [15] For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent( precede, go before) them which are asleep. [16] For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: [17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” Shirley passed away that day and it was her daughter, Crystol Lynn, who spoke to me. She wrote in my pages as her Mother had done. Shirley Faye Jones- Hundley died April 10, 2002 after a long illness with brain cancer. We will meet again one day. Crystol was given charge of me after Shirley passed on and we have spoken often, through me in her Mother's Bible as well as in her own copy. Now, we speak daily on the phone for hours and hours! (KJV Bible with Strong's Concordance app) She intends to pass me along to her daughter, after her death. And so she has also spoken to me, writing in my pages of special events in her life. Mrs. Erastus Harvey Woods married Feb.26, 2007 Selena Rosalie born April 09, 2007! (BORN ON SHIRLEY'S BIRTHDAY!) Hunter Harvey born December 03, 2011- Died January 22, 2012 ( died on Crystol’s birthday) I eagerly await the time when all can once again be together but until then, I'll continue to teach, comfort, love, and record the lives and events of the children of this lovely, faithful woman I was given to so long ago…Shirley Faye Jones- Hundley. Sincerely, Momma's Bible
