Poem
Too much to know, I just don't know it As I fumble around, just a humble poet Frustrated as I watch unfurl a show I just don't know it, too much to know Answers are near, in the palm of my hand It's nobody's fault that I can't understand Incomprehensible nature can instill fear In the palm of my hand, answers are near I look on with intent, with sense of knowing Disconnected in a way from the thoughts flowing On the tip of my tongue, I'm on the scent With sense of knowing, I look on with intent I mirror it all, enough to blow my mind Then blank screen, nothing to find Did I rest on a ledge, view then fall? Enough to blow my mind, I mirror it all Suddenly I'm scared, don't like what I see There's no turning away, I'm staring at me It's like looking could cause one to be ensnared Don't like what I see, suddenly I'm scared There's still sun and sky, backdrop in tact I was running on empty, mixing fiction with fact Unearths strange emotions when eye to eye Backdrop in tact, there's still sun and sky Just consider my make up, yet try not to dwell Or get lost in a world of an unwishing well Like divining all from the leaves in a cup Yet try not to dwell, just consider my make up Things crawl out of sight, enter by stealth Am I all that I am or a composite self There's no comprehensible logic, try as I might Enter by stealth, things crawl out of sight The connection to things, inexplicably true Resonance of rain, innate recognition of you They dwindle quickly these threads and strings Inexplicably true, the connection to things With the glass in-between, gets too warm inside With shortness of breath and need to run and hide Exit the hot house before too much I glean Gets too warm inside, with the glass in-between I try to dress ornate to set self apart I sense beating or mimicking of more than one heart I'm a tangle and mishmash, confusion of fate To set self apart, I try to dress ornate If all things renew, but what memories last? Is there a point in time when permanence cast? Or one chance only and it's that that I blew But what memories last if all things renew? Interconnected, superhighway on heat On the cusp of elation, then suffer defeat It's centrifugal fulcrum, no wonder affected Super highway on heat, interconnected Broken magnetics, attract and repel So we salivate over ideas of heaven and hell Seek deeper meaning, yet distracted by aesthetics Attract and repel, broken magnetics Why am I writing, when I fear I'm a bore Hermit intentions mean crave company more Constantly battle with self, so tired of fighting When I fear I'm a bore, why am I writing? Stick to the lines, notice square or rounded Simple concepts within which truth compounded Let eyes glaze over, seeing too much blinds Notice square or rounded, stick to the lines When everything's veined, tell me what then? When the age old is too old, do we all start again? Forget me not discolours yet memory ingrained Tell me what then, when everything's veined? Gently we tilt to the sun, awash with emotion Soothed body and soul when relinquish self to devotion I cannot explain this story I've spun Awash with emotion, gently we tilt to the sun Thyself needs to cleanse, weighed down by the cycle Choose guide well, good advice comes from Michael There's miracles existing in the power of friends Weighed down by the cycle, thyself needs to cleanse I'm not back to the start, just lost in the middle Unaware of the question but attempting the riddle Getting too close hurts, it really does smart Just lost in the middle, I'm not back to the start
