Poem
Mother Has Hearts in His Eyes When He Looks into Yours Caring less about emptying his wallet, he promised to take you on tours. With his fingers trying to grasp my shirt, he told me you ripped his heart off your sleeve. Under the umbrella of a starless night, clad in all shimmering black like a thief. It makes me wonder at night how he sees his wife. He slips his hand into yours in public with pride when you get any attention. He only wants you in his life. Deep inside, offering fake smiles, I pray he does this against his will. Does he remember the vow he took or the seal? From birth, I knew I had a great sense of humor which could light up any dark room. With you, I always felt your laugh was fake, forced like those 'lol's one sends to groom. Pulled me closer to you with your daring personality, Held my hand in the dark, and I fell for the fake sincerity. You whispered to me, asking why I got the courage, "Why him? You could basically have any man you want." "I didn't know he was married." Now you know, but why do you still stay? Once again, I have proven to be a fool, Letting you use me again and again like a tool. Once bitten, twice shy, they say. Maybe next time, you won't take the blame. Upon arrival, he spends the whole time in your room. What do you guys do in there? The moans and creaks aren't you playing cards. He doesn't put any effort into knowing your kids. You do the same and pretend they don't exist. I promise to keep it hushed that I hate it when you are here. Ever since, you have given me a dirty once-over in your car. She seems to like being around you, even when you smell like tar. And only lets others see her naked for fun. Go back to your wife and kids. Don't make me bleed; it might be your turn. If he loved his son like a father should, He wouldn't ever be interested in you, mother.
