Moses and the burning bush Exodus 3:15-19 (part two) God also said to Moses,"Say to the Israelists,'The LORD, the God of your fathers-- the God of Abraham, the God of Issac and the God of Jacob--has sent me to you. This is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from one gene ration to anther generation. 'Go and assemble the elders of Israel and say to them,' The LORD, God the God of your fathers--The God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob-- appeared to me and said: I have watched over you and have seen what has been done to you in Egypt. And I have promised to bring you out of your misery in Egypt into the land of the Canaanites, the Hitties, Amorities, Perizzities, and Jebusites-- a land flowing with milk and honey.' The elders of Israel will listen to you. Then you and the elders are to go to the king of Egypt and say to him,"The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Let us take a three day journey into the desert to offer sacrifices to the LORD our God. 'But I know that the king of Egypt will not just you go unless a mighty hand compels him.' God's Covenant with Abram Genesis 15:10- 21 conclusion Abram brought all those to him, cut them in two, and arranged the halves opposite to each other; the birds, however he did not cut in half. Then birds of prey came down on the carcasses, but Abram drove them away. As the son was setting, Abram fell into a deep sleep, and a thick and dreadful darkness came over him. "Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own, and they will enslaved and mistreated four hundred years. But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterwards they shall come out with great possessions. You, however, will go to your fathers in peace and be buried at a good old age. In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached full measure." When the sun had set and darkness had fallen, a smoking firepot with a blazing torch appeared and passed between the pieces. On that day, the LORD nade a covenant with Abram and said,"To your descendants, I give this land, from the river of Eygpt to the great river the Euphrates. The land of the Kenizzites, Kadmonites, Hittites, Perrizzites, Amorites, Caannites, Girgaes and Jebusites." (The LORD is still keeping his promises for his chosen people unto this very day of July 09,2024; God's saves!) Roxanne Lea Dubarry Roxy Lea 1954/October Country July 08-9, 2024
