Then I heard the voice of the LORD saying,"Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" "And I said." Here I am. Send me!" He said,"Go and tell this people: "'Be ever hearing but never understanding; be ever listening but never perceiving.' Isaiah 6:8-9 Samuel anoints David as king 1 Samuel 16:3-6 (part three) NIV 'You are to anoint for me the one that I indicate. "Samuel did what the LORD said. When he arrived at Bethlehem, the elders of the town trembled when they met him. They asked him,"Do you come in peace?" Samuel replied,"Yes, in peace; I have come to sacrifice to the LORD. Consecrate yourselves and come to the sacrifice with me." (Then he constricted Jessie and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice.) When they arrived, Samuel saw Eliab and thought,"Surely the LORD's anointed stands here before the LORD." Moses and the Burning Bush Exodus 3:9-14 (part two) NIV And now the cry of Israelists has reached me, and I have seen the way that the Egyptians are oppressing them. So now I am sending you to Pharaoh and bring the Israelists out of Egypt. When you have brought them out of Egypt, you will come and worship me on this holy mountain." Moses said to God,"Suppose I go to the Israelists and say to them,'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they ask me,'What is his name?' 'Then what will I tell them?" God said to Moses,"I AM WHO I AM. This is what you will tell the Israelists: I AM has sent me to you.'" Abraham tested Genesis 22:1-5 (part one) NIV Some time later, God tested Abraham. He said to him,"Abraham!" He said to him," Abraham!" "Here I am," he replied. Then God said,"Take your son, your only son, Issac, whom you love and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering to me on one of the moun tains I will tell you about." Early the next morning, Abraham got up and saddled his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son Issac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place that God had told him about. On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance. He said to his servant," Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then come back to you." Rehab and the two spies Joshua 3:12 (part three) NIV Now then, please swear to me by the LORD that you will show kindness to my family, because I have shown kindness to you.
