Then I heard the voice of the LORD saying,"Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said,"Here I am. Send me!" He said go and tell this people: "'Be ever hearing, but never understanding; be ever seeing but never perceiving..."Isaiah 6:8-9 NIV The LORD Calls Samuel 1 Samuel chapter 3 NIV Now Samuel did not know yet the LORD. The word of the LORD had not yet been reveled to him. The LORD called Samuel a third time, and Samuel got up and went to Eli and said,"Here I am; you called me." 1 Samuel 3:7-8 Then Eli realized that the LORD was calling the boy. So Eli told Samuel, "Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say,"Speak, LORD, for your servant is listening'" So Samuel went and lay down in his place. 1 Samuel 3:9 The LORD came and stood there, calling as if other times,"Samuel, Samuel!" Than Samuel said,"Speak, for your servant is listening."1 Samuel 3:10 And the LORD said to Samuel: "See, I am about to do something in Israel that will make the ears of everyone who hears it tingle. At that time I will carry out against Eli everything I have spoke against his family--from beginning to end. For I told him that I would judge his family forever because of the sin he knew about; his sons made themselves contemptible, and he failed to restrain them. Therefore, I swore to the house of Eli, the guilt of Eli's house will never be atoned for by sacrifice or offering." 1 Samuel 3:11-15 The Call of Abram Genesis chapter 12 NIV The LORD said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land that I will show you. 'I will make you a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all of the people of the earth will be blessed through you." Genesis 12:1-3 So Abram left, as the LORD had tole him; and Lot went with him. Abram was 75 years old when he set out from Haran. He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, all of the possessions they had accumulated and the people they had acquired in Haran, and the set out for the land of Canaan and arrived there. Genesis 12:4-5 The Beginning Genesis 1:26 Then God said,"Let us make man in our own image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea, and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all of the earth, and over all the creatures that move on the ground." Great is the LORD Roxanne Lea Dubarry Roxy Lea 1954 June 29, 2024
