Poem
At the edge of twilight's embrace, I found myself anew Under the caress of an ancient wind, whispering forgotten echoes I soared on the wings of a dreamt desire, chasing the phantom light Climbing a staircase woven from stars and shadows Reaching the zenith, a summit kissed by ephemeral fire And then, the fall - a spiraled descent into the chasm of my own void. I shattered, a constellation of lost pieces, Fragments of a soul drifting in the black ocean of night With scars etched deep into my being, Loosened bolts, a structure unmade by illusion, Horror gripped my heart as I realized what was missing, A vital shard, a key to fit into the grand tapestry of life. In the delirium of youth, I chased faces, not hearts I danced to the frenetic rhythm of fleeting desires, I sought to fill the ever-gaping void in my chest A cavern so vast, echoing with my silent agony, Yet no mirage could bring solace to the emptiness within. But as the years rolled by and wisdom kissed my brow Now, I can truly claim knowledge of love, It is not a wild fire, burning bright and fast, But a gentle, enduring flame that glows warmly, A fortress and a shelter, my foundation, my cause, It wraps me in its embrace and carries me through life’s storms. True love does not chase the ephemeral glimmers It does not lose itself in the rapid dance of lust, But nurtures the growth of two intertwined souls It provides space, breathing dreams into reality, Opening doors hidden deep within our spirits. This love, oh how I've come to crave it, For it has meticulously sewn all my wounds, Golden threads of understanding, And now I see the folly of puppy love, Merely a facade for social adulation, A masquerade of glamour, igniting the fire of envy. True love whispers in the quiet, Revealing its depth behind closed doors, Naked, raw, an unmasked flame, When it matures, it becomes the silent supporter, The shadow that propels you forward, unseen but always felt. Now, with every beat of my heart, I understand the essence of an eternal love, More than mere adornment or spectacle, It is the mystical light in my life, And in the profound silence of remembrance, This love remains, an eternal flame.
