Poem
I've just painted my nails
So have to sit still
There's a breeze coming in and it grazed me
Woke me up and sent me to sleep simultaneously 
I was thinking how I'm enjoying reclining right now (I've been ill all week)
And then 20 something years ago sitting on the pavement in the queue to Pompidou
The queue snaked for what seemed like miles and my friend said if both of us sit down neither of us would feel self conscious 
We must have been tired as we laughed and actually lay on the ground until the queue started to move 
Sometimes the ideas were mine -as we'd tried to grab some z's in a department store bed aisle the day before - also hilarious as the Parisian store attendant tried to tell us it was not allowed
All my memories are a bit like snapshots from film montage 
Ahh there we are again drunk on a bench eating cheeto's and drinking wine out of the bottle on a rainy day (it was Paris still - in the photos we took we look exquisite)
Prague and we declared we'd never drink again then realised it was March 17th, and drank Guinness and took artistic black and white photos
At Niagara Falls where I had my first taste of rocket and avocado and she took my photo
In New Orleans where we sang at Cats Meow and realised we didn't know the song very well just as it started
In New York seeing the sun setting over Brooklyn Bridge and wondering if we should be concerned we hadn't yet booked a hotel
Looking at the new and the burned down pier in Brighton 
That time she got up at 5am to make me Dolmades from scratch because I'd said I liked them
My nails are dry
My friend has said just hop on a train if the mood strikes and I'll be made welcome
Even this friend, I still think "I wonder if she really likes me?"
I make the bar impossibly high
In the middle of the night my other friends will arrive and we'll go off to Spain 
Not a one of them let's me have a minute of doubt
If fact I've just sent a random message now as I need someone to pack my case in their case for the flight home as I leave early and I've said all week I didn't need to use their cases because I'd just leave my case in Spain 
Maybe this will be the day I tip it all over the edge...
