Poem

I wade through stagnant waters
Unable to change my state.
Forwards and backwards both lead to here,
A place ive grown to hate.

In the labrinth of days that blur to gray
I wander, lost, with no clear path to tread.
A prisoner of time, each moment frays my spirit
Bound my dreams long cold and dead.

The sky a barron canvas, bears no light
No stars to guide, no moon to mark my way.
There is no dawn, only an endless night.
A weary heart, no hope of day.

The echoes of ambition, once so clear
Now fade to whispers, barely heard at all.
A symphony of silence, wrapped in fear
In shadowed coridoors where teardrops fall.

Here i sit in purgatory, 
Unable to change my fate.
Forwards and backwards both lead to here.
A place ive grown to hate.

My feet are lead, my will a captive soul
Trapped in a cycle, cruel and unforgiving.
The weight of all my failures takes its toll.
A burden vast, a sorrow unrelenting.

Like quicksand, the more i fight
The faster i keep sinking.
Unaware that I am able to escape anytime i wish.  
Just by changing my way of thinking.
