Poem
Trees, big or small, soothe poets, Big or small, they are advisors, artists Who soothe the storms of the lonely souls, They stand out like magicians Before the subtle skies, Trees soothe poets, big or small, They retain birds and their vermilion nests, Trees don’t think like us, Stillness is their great pleasure, their voyage, Trees soothe bold poets, lemon trees, willows, Look at them when you walk in the clearings of Carolina, In the footsteps of Fenimore Cooper, Look at them as warm brothers, They know that the life of men is difficult and short, They need each other to grow, To cover the earth with forests, impenetrable jungles, They need the light to breathe, to see the sky, Trees soothe poets, big or small, They know the silence of lovers, They are advisers of grass, of flowery gorse, From poppy with sublime ideals, Trees soothe shy poets, Trust in them, To the deer, the cats, the elephants that protect them, Confide in them, big or small, They will listen to you from sunrise to sunset, They will be the geniuses of your maritime nights, Trees ward off evil, ward off your great immortal wounds.
