Poem
Kaleidoscope Girl She is made of glass of broken pieces And shattered fragments She has jagged edges That splintered my soul She has wounded me And my scars healed With drops of her sealed Embedded forever I shouldn’t have peered Into the hole of her kaleidoscope eyes Now I am mesmerized Her schisms widening Oblivious to my maddening Unheeding to my change Drenched in diversity An array of different things Quenched my thirst With her insatiable creativity Addicting, conflicting With each turn Reveals a complexity I could not explain The perfect epitome Of insane Lost in my reverie I could never return To who I was After she centrifuged my soul Forever inebriating Scintillating Leaves me cursing she transformed every downturned smile Didn’t mean to beguile But it's all worthwhie I couldn't keep up Lights flashing seizure-inducing With every turn vertigo-inciting transformation More beautiful than the images before Complexity of her vision is never a bore Holds me prison In the realms of her optical prism With every new light, Comes a strong source She alters Into unique shapes She changes the tune Revealed through reflective mirrors As I glean into her fascinating burst of patterns I caught a glimpse of who I am And who I am not I also changed endlessly Treading through Inclined mirrors No traction, no grip Slippery, I trip Ever-changing Endless possibilities Her peephole Defies all the things I know About laws of reflection An excellent visual treat Or simply “flaws” of attraction For those who get to see Through her kaleidoscope eyes Flecks of blue, And all the vibrant hues Of orange, red, and green And everything in between My eyes blurry, I am broken Visual distortions Left me sugar-high Reluctant goodbye My presence watched through Kaleidoscope eyes Things are not what they’ve been Visions are not what they seem Yet she seems so real Vivid, beautiful and strange Her presence glisten not from my tears Nor from my kaleidoscope fears Don’t stare Into the glare Or you’ll find yourself again Pulled through the dark tunnel Of her unknown Don’t fight to stay by her side Coz she is nowhere is sight Her colors don’t have a name They just burst into flames She plays inside The confines of her prism And the specter of my own prison.
