Inspiration is soothing. Like a breeze that lands it’s crisp wings on the perspiration on your skin. Like a deep breath after holding no air in your lungs too long. Like a long awaited cup of coffee you’ve brewed after working 8 hours straight and you just agreed to do a double. Inspiration backhands you out of nowhere. It surprises you, shocks you, makes you feel Like you just hit a home run when y'all were three points from winning and there was only seven seconds left on clock. Inspiration is soothing. The way it fills up that hole in your soul, the way it caresses that bruise on your heart. The way it fills gaps between time and envelops your mind. The way it makes you create art and come up with rhyme. Inspiration is soothing. It built houses. It planted trees. Created flowers and wrote out college degrees. It gained twitter followers and invented math, it hurried us up the technological path. It built bridges, it built roads. Constructed blushing statues out of pure stone! Inspiration is soothing. It creeps up on you when you least expect it to. And disappears through no fault of your own. It hides round corners and under vaulted floors. It hides in plain site and lingers behind closed doors. It sticks to your shoes like gum sometimes, keeps you up all night and drives you up the wall, entrancing you, encapsulating you when you planned on doing nothing at all! It scurries under tables when bitter people walk by. It forces people to perform tasks others would be baffled by. It made men walk on rope seven stories high with no strings attached. It created armies and soldiers and instructed men to attack. It destroyed whole nations, it created nuclear weapons. Inspiration is powerful! Inspiration is dangerous. Inspiration is responsible for every tiny little thing created by mankind. Inspiration is the reason why I sometimes lose my mind. But it is soothing when it comes.
