the world fades from my fingertips
like blood oozing from an open wound
the sky is ripped apart and full of thunder
and my eyes are twisted in pain

i never let go of that pain i held inside
and as i fell against the wall i wondered
if i screamed would anyone hear it
as the light died and cast me in shadows

the walls are drenched in my blood
once white and once black and now scarlet
i could never quite wash away the pain
that howls at my heart like a wolf does the moon

for years everything slowly fell apart
until it fully consumed the white walls
and if i hold my heart in my own hands
i wonder if it will ever beat again

and as the world fades from my fingertips
like blood from an open wound
the sky outside rains tears of blood
corrupting my sense of reality

im so afraid i can never stand again
ensnared by the ghosts of the past
reality looms larger and larger
closing in and capturing me

if anyone stood by the door
i wonder if they locked me inside
because all i see is what is here
slicing memories in half

you held my eyes and told me lies
cutting heartstrings one at a time
so i nailed my heart to the wall again
forgetting what's real and how to feel

my calls for salvation echo hauntingly
through barren corridors and my own mind
leaving me defeated and broken
and in a shivering fit

as the world fades from my fingertips
like blood from an open wound
there is a darkness within my heart
closing the chapter on my reality
