Written: April 12, 2024 Rumi Quote: "I am an ark in the swift flood of time, and my companions, a fellowship. Who throws in with us sails into light" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When the rain has ceased its fall, The cloud-crowned cliff did not appall. Earth was covered—in droplets of dew, Such nature's tears morphed to renew. A parched earth, now drenched and reborn, a sip of water from the heavenly well. A revived melody, full of zest, is born, Immanent strand to appear and swell. Streams climb to an incredible height, Whirling water that rises to sky sight. Growing stalwart—with every passing day, A majestic power—an ideal sight on display. Through night, it roars along its channel, Writhing as medieval dragon, sharp and primal. Gentle pull that a river exerts on this land, Streamsides are grasped—with slippery hand. Swiping at everything suspended above, A river bearing treasures, filled with love. Behold, a creature from days of yore, With the creek's ebb and flow, it soars. Yet, it has been tamed by mapping lore, A vessel spills with elegance at its core. Withdraws, inside its utter embrace, In buds of spring and summer's grace. Another eve, vivid in my thoughts, I recall, Creeks, unyielding, challenged its wall. An endless stream, defying restriction, Yet spills result in cascade of repetition. Perpetual recitation of the same refrain, Aqueous pantomime in endless waltz remains. Once again, a symphony of spillage took place, Imminent smashing down slopes, still in race. A network of flowing streams teems with life, Graceful rivers meander, untouched by strife. Filling their shorelines with water galore, There has never been a scene as this before. Hastening to unite with twisting wellness, Dance of motion—symphony of awareness. It leaves no room for anything in its path, Whirlwind of disorder—harmonious wrath This betrayal caused such profound damage, With a heavy spirit, tears are now baggage. Streams disinterest was obvious to me, Its ear is mute—and unwilling to foresee. With grace, it moved, following nature's call, In one fleeting moment, it outshone us all. Defeating our intellect with power so pure, A humble force, its victory secure. Abodes, assets, and souls were wiped away, We swirled as a breath, transient but idly by. Following a day, the beast anger waned, And sun shone brightly and gently reigned.
