True love, the kind that lasts,
Remembers to give, with an open heart,
Remembers to listen, to hear what’s being spoken,
Remembers to laugh, to smile, to kiss,
Remembers to embrace the music, the wish,
Remembers to hope, to inspire, to believe,
Remembers to feel, with everything they sense.

True love, the kind that survives the test of time,
Frees the heart, the mind, the spirit,
Frees the feelings and the memories,
Frees the shadows that have been filled with dread,
Frees the dreams of the sorrow felt so deeply,
Frees the smile, the breath, the stardust in his eyes,
Frees the music, the rhythm, the melody,
Frees the yearnings, the blessings, the beautiful.

True love, the kind that restores and settles,
Invites the soul to a warmer moment, a deeper light,
Invites the promise to keep giving her word,
Invites the melancholy to blend her gray with bold desire,
Invites the tenderness to persuade the gentlest peace,
Invites the lovely to see the beauty in her circumstances,
Invites the whisper, the sigh, the reason,
Invites the depths of the seas, the trees, the praise,
Invites the lingering joy, the pleasure in knowing, the grace.

True love, the kind that creates and captures, at times, crazily,
Creates, bewilders, mesmerizes – like the moon so high,
Beguiles the heart to see through the darkness,
Hypnotizes the thoughts so they can see the whimsical,
Startles the light found in those who encourage,
Invigorates the soul who can see through the gloom,
Penetrates the fear so it becomes less significant,
Stirs a fire in the life who hears hope in God’s promises.

True love, though often ignored as worthless,
Is actually the most precious gift,
The reason I hope – the reason I give,
The answer to prayers, the trickle of a light,
Falling against my soul’s pain,
Restoring joy, rebuilding faith…

True love is truly love beyond words.
It is wonderful, beautiful, filled with life,
Breathless as the joy that colors a heart,
In feelings blessed, feelings so amazing…
True love is the way a heart keeps praising,
Even through the ache of a heartbreak,
Even when there seems so little to rejoice for,
Even when doubt leaks through the soul,
Even when life feels like all hope has gone,
Even when the thoughts are blurred by tears,
Even when despair is all a heart can feel.

True love is true, like the honeyed caress,
The music in a prayer, the tone of joy in laughter,
The feeling that prepares the spirit to reach out,
Touch the wonder in each moment,
Risk feeling, believing, caring…
For the chance to experience the rarity…
Of love that never fades away,
Love that is stronger than the light of day,
Love that will always be what I pray…
When I need to know love that won’t betray, 
Love that will never lead hearts astray,
Love that will never runaway.
Love that lasts, throughout all time.
Love that is more than a little rhyme.
Love that lasts – it is forever alive,
Surviving the worst, appreciating the best,
And, reminding us all that love is a priceless gift.

Thank God for true love, shaped by His hand.
This is the kind of love that only a soul can understand.
