Poem
In the quiet corners of my heart, a whisper softly cries, A longing deeper than the ocean's endless, rolling tides, The ache of not being seen, of feeling lost and alone, Yearning for a love that feels like coming home. Eyes that search the world, seeking refuge in another's gaze, Hoping to find peace in the shadows of life's maze, 55 years have come and gone, leaving trails of dreams behind, But the one who'll hold me close, still seems so hard to find. Each passing day a mirror, reflecting back my fears, Lines etched upon my face, betraying hidden tears, The weight of loneliness heavy upon my soul, Aching for a love that makes my broken heart feel whole. Universe and stars seem distant, their light too far away, Casting shadows on my path, where hope begins to unravel, But in the stillness of the night, when all is dark and hushed, A glimmer of light remains, in the faith that love is lush, For in the depths of loneliness, where despair may reign, There lies a quiet strength, a dim spark that will sustain. Though time may wear me down, with each passing year, A glimmer of hope still lingers on, whispering in my ear, That love is not bound by age, nor by worldly decree. So I am told, Love comes when least expected, setting the spirit free, So I should not let sadness dim the light, that barely shines within my eyes. For love, in its own time, will come as a sweet surprise, And in the waiting, may I find, a love as true as gold, Acceptance, respect, loyalty, in a love that will unfold. For the universe holds mysteries, in its vast expanse, And love, in all its beauty, will give my heart a chance. Questions still lingers in my mind, will I ever find the one or did I lose my chance? I will probably never know.
