Poem
This is not a poetry contest entry . I wish I had a penny for every time That I was wrong, I could be a politician counting pennies all day long. Oh! I wish I had a penny, every time Taylor Swift would sing, My eyes would be like a fruit machine. Ka-ching ka-ching ka-ching. I wish I had a penny for Every written word, I can hear my Grandma now, God rest her, Shouting, "don't be so absurd!" I wish I had a penny for Every rain drop that ever fell, I could afford to pay the devil, To quench all the flames in hell. I wish I had a penny for every time That I was wrong, I could fill the Yankee Stadium Ten times over, although, I could be wrong ? I wish I had a penny for every time That I was wrong, But in this particular verse, I can't think of a single one. I wish I had a penny for every time That I was wrong, I could travel to the moon and back, Just like Aldrin and Armstrong . I wish I had a penny, Every time that someone died I would bequeath it to their loved ones, And to their faces bring a smile. I wish I had a penny, For every right that was ever wronged, I would gift it to the victims, So they'd know they're not alone I wish I had a penny for every time That I was wrong, I could live off caviar And doughnuts, Even learn the lyrics to a song. I wish I had a penny for every time That I was wrong, I would give it to the guy On November 5th when Guy Fawkes Comes along . Oh! I wish I had a penny every time That I was wrong, Surely it's not too much to ask, As I feel this poem could Be quite long ..S-S-Snooooooze. I wish I had a penny, For every heart I never Broke, but wishing is For dreamers When words are never Spoke. Oh I wish I had a penny, But sadly I have none. But you can willingly Embrace all my love Before it has all gone. If by some chance A lady should read, And decide to break Out in song, Please, please, ladies Always remember that, A man is never wrong . The last verse is for the Benefit of my long suffering Partner Clare , who is never wrong This is just in case she decides to read One of my poems . Oh I wish I had a penny ...........
