Poem
When time stands still and we never need to see a clock again, When life reveals the music and the light of grace, When hearts can feel all the wonder beneath its silent faith… I will remember that it was You, the only One who knew me, So well, your blood clung to me, Covering me in grace, leaving a smile across my face, Because your love can be felt in this place… My soul, where You came to say – love has made a way, Beyond the pain, beyond the fear, beyond the sin – Your blood silences every doubt, reassures me that, because… You came and died, rose again, our sacrifice… I can know the meaning of everlasting life, Life that is inspired by the love that is my reminder… When time ceases to be and everywhere, there is gentle peace, When life considers me and agrees that I’m blessed, When hearts hesitate to listen, though I confess… I will tell the world, the sinners and the saints, You are my purpose – You’re the reason I believe, Your blood flows from eternal realms, To silence the darkness that surrounds me with doubt. Your blood gushes, pouring out the mercy, That comes to those who believe You are life. Your blood floods the spirit with forgiveness, fulfillment, Plunging me in grace that will sustain me for eternity. As time moves beyond the first moment I believed, I remember the joy, the kindness, the need – Met by a love that is more gracious than I can describe, A love that lives in the blood, a love that was the complete sacrifice… For all my faults and flaws, the sin that burdened my heart, Making me wonder if I had a chance at all… Thanks to You, Lord – the defender of our souls, I have a second chance to be the child You had hoped for, The child who knows – love that restores the broken, Love that kindles flames, fire in the soul, to reflect the One, Who holds the keys to death, hell and the grave… Thanks to You, Jesus… I know that I can sing my song, In a world who has lost it’s reason to go on, A world who doesn’t know You, but a world who should see… Once we’re washed in the blood, there is no doubt of our destiny. Because He is light, He is love, He is hope – I know, without a doubt, What my future holds… I look forward to spending eternity with the One who lived and died, Then, came back to life… So that I could abide with Him on the other side. It’s a simple plan, not hard to understand… Just believe in Him, And, know He’ll take you by the hand, Lead you into the promised land!
