UNDERBELLIES


What underbelly is this 
          containing quiet grasping greed for
my magical sword gifted to me by St Michael ?
       What underbelly is this that 
deciphers my Heart through the 
                 lens of another in a cheap restaurant
eating chilli hamburgers 
        then seeking solace in my astral dances
whilst remaining in lukewarm frills ?

 
What underbelly is this that texts 
               on lonely mornings with victim feet 
swollen mudpies 
           a plaintive thin-stream voice nearing depletion ?


What underbelly is this that amoeba
multiply in a kennel bedroom on dirty linen 
               T-shirt towels 
lie ghetto torn tracks across 
never-mind matters bound
          virus tissues littered through 
half drawn curtains ?


What underbelly is this that hiddenly whispers 
at front doors delivering nut bars or
                 rosy fabric remnants 
running races to blind eye 
         life ravaged faces and 
innocent questions quick flying daggered ?


What underbelly is this that counts 
endless rosaries 
            chanting ten hour verses
        robbing prayers of a prophet’s poise
glueing atoms to explode them
                 devastating bombs uprooting frangipani, roses, 
jasmine, mint and parsley 
           alike into a rubber bin to the dump
              whilst chomping cinnamon 
biscuits hidden ?


Greed a swollen or insidious mirror 
         victimhood dragonfly wing parchment embedded 
deceit played quick-witted clown 
         despondency flayed arms pulling pulleys 
sloth raucous laughed
                       in a genderless body 
whilst anger sweated Coke


Are these my underbellies grieving
      my own clunky shadows unembraced 
          receding further and further 
as I approach the Core 
                                   where New Earth 
 expectant lie ?


Serpents upside down turned
       from dark trenches waded through decades
slashed rocks, rooted earth to Earth…
                 giving Presence to fellow travellers… 


Where is God when Heart 
                soft marshmallow lie
                      sacral vulnerable to vultures
holding space for underbellies 
                spreading stubborn mucus


I’m here in the stench
                I’m here with MY hectic heavy 
                                               duty tests
the darker the better I tell MY supplicating angels
             give testimony to a march of 
Time only I designed 
         reflecting underbelly aftermaths
holding Platonic keys as fragments 
        of MY Whole in Expansion 


 I laugh MY underbelly laugh
             MY underbellies my
jelly in ceramic bowls
     for Sunday afternoon tea


What flavour, MY child
   what flavour?
