Poem
yesterday is a collection of photographic memories tomorrow a whirlpool of uncertainties I'm a faded image in this island of healing trying to control life, but helpless against ambrosial aura of death in an existence of 'what ifs' was I bad, good, or just ugly my father told me to not show emotions, but, today in momentary thoughts, I have the urge to breathe poetry, pondering modern metaphors, analogies free from the irony of oxymoron's of night and day, how moonstones in artless skies could compose singing sunsets hidden behind ash clouds life may not love me tomorrow, yet I know the sky is mine when the violin keeps playing in midst of musical melancholy and the pianist bleeds on ivory keys I'm torn between prophecies and philosophies, where scriptures and scholars cannot ease these vapours of sorrow, as they tell me it's all been said before, but I still want to find the perfect words to reveal my imperfect poetic scars, even if it's the last time it's my amethyst armour, this ink reveals derelict dreams, that once walked under waterfall chandeliers, and I'm still scribbling these simple musings, despite the scorn, cracks of my heart and the wounds from daggers dug deep into my flesh, by those who offered an olive branch or tried to tame my soul among so many friendly faces, I feel so alone, but still I smile, if you knew my heart, shaped like a pearl, you would learn it only wants to illuminate, even in the toughest trials, as adversity has always made my mirror stronger, so you cannot defeat me I am an eagle that soars above the storm, I am rain to my cherished flowers, sunlight to cold hearts, a lamp in darkness, my silence is my shield against torment, so why should I be afraid in the new dawn poets will still write, musicians will still sing and if this was my last message, even at the point of no return, I'll keep hope in a treasure with silver ribbons wrapped around golden dreams, because the music will never stop, glowing in sun-streaked serenades and in its glistening stillness I'll whisper a farewell in warm garnet shades stolen from a rainbow tomorrow you won't be there, so, I'll live for today
