I am a believer in angels, though not the picture-book kind with wings and harps. Such angelic accoutrements seem as nonsensical to me as devils sporting horns and carrying pitchforks. To me, angel wings are merely symbolic of their role as divine messengers. - Richard Paul Evans I didn’t always see them, Her wings were, once, hidden Little secret treasures, Beneath faded shirts, her pearls, Lasting and seeking peace, Blessing like would never seem, Possible – yet, I still believed… Because I’ve seen her gentle wings, In the softest light of silence, In the whispers of a tender breeze, In the music of bird’s crooning, In the depth of a starlit June, In the hues of laughter so beautiful, In the listening from a heart, Who knows what real love is like. I’ve seen her tears, her smile, her feelings, Boldly painting the next moment, With wonders, enthusiasm, eager to lift the burden, Eager to invite the soul’s insights, the wisdoms, Discovered in a peace beyond belief, Serenity dancing in the leaves, sighing on the trees, Bringing hope to the aching heart, faith To the one who has lost. I’ve seen her – her wings peeking from her longings, Breathless dreams and still, cool joys, Feelings displayed by tears, like dewdrops, Falling quietly, making a way for the beautiful Sunrise, the endless music, the miracles That come to life when the spirit soars, its wings, Gliding past the melancholy, past the darkness, Into the light, where she praises Him, Her most sincere truth – Jesus, the One who gave her… Winged ideas, seeking the brilliance of love, That never gives up, never gives in…. Love that comes from knowing the Son who grows, A wonderful beyond expectations, A love that assures hearts of God’s sweet affection, A love that requires nothing from us, Because His love is our life’s best blessing, And, there on her wings, glistens the grace That reveals His love in every note that she sings, Each promise that she brings, All the love that surely means – love is the meaning… Of life, of living, of being… love is the blessing, That reveals God’s eternal acceptance, - His eternal gesture, On wings of love, she collects us – the admirers, Who know she is God’s gift to those who meet her, His light, reflected in the twinkle that flashes… In her eyes, when her wings are lifted in flight.
