Why are 'the states' in such a state? On a teeter-totter'
Of neglect, and fate.? A stateles place an oxymoron?
With a surging mass they, can't shut the door on.?
Yet the source is not from accross far lands, it springs
From a fountain, more near at hand' along foul halls
It seems to run.? down from a 'big house' a'wash in scum
It needs a clean up I hear some say, on tv and radio just
By the way.' There are fifty states under 'a sun' that could

Of life, it leads to adventure, and yes there's some strife? a
Fight' Away from old money, emperors and kings and those other
More certain things..Away from poverty and the foreign influence Rings? Unto a plain; a place thats clear  where vision can
Focus, on what is dear'  on liberty good life, freedom and people
Who can.' welcome others to sound reality, a place of safety
Of equal chance, where theres work and rest, a place to
Advance, in peace through strength,  and human accord
Could this be achieved. Or are all?
 just simply too bored.?
