Listen, shhh!! Quiet, there it is 
          A songbird of spring, here in January
                I am not experiencing discombobulation
                         Or am I

How awesome to hear that sound
  No, the phoebe isn't there
       Checking out last year's nest 
            He is experiencing live moments
               Somewhere living life
                   Until he will live here again

Am I discombobulated yet__or are you 
   Maybe I could come up with
         An alternate plan
             Or maybe alternate between two perplexing
                           Alternatives

Outside in the sunshine
    Such a great attribute
         For the middle of winter
            There was a call                      
               And to a dove I did attribute the sound

Yes!! Yes!! A definite coo__
     Done deliberately by him
         There's no need to deliberate
            A dove calling for a mate
                  In January

We are not in a desert here
       It is wet and cold
             Nor are we deserted by birds
                Their songs are gold
                   In the spring
                      So I am not discombobulated
                           Just old
