Q:   Why did Jesus only pray for His disciples and not the rest of the world?
       John 17:9

A:   Because they belonged to the Father because they were the ones the
      Father had given him.   He did not pray for the world because the world
      neither belonged to Him nor did the world belong to the Father.  He was
      talking about the very world who had both already rejected both Him and
      His Father  John 17:9.

Q:  Why did God the Father and God the Son share everything equally and
      why did glory come to Jesus Christ through them?  John 17:10

 A   [His disciples that His  Father had given Him.  In order to aid Him] with His
       being able to fulfill His God-given earthly ministry.] John 17:10
    
A:   And because of the disciples, given to Him, by His own heavenly Father. 
      His  Father was able to give Jesus Christ His own glory.  John 17:10


A:   [There was:   God  the Father and God the Son and Jesus Christ's own
       disciples.  Everything was co-dependent upon all three of them--in order
      for God the Father-- to   be able to pass on His own glory to God  the Son.] 
 
Q:   Why did Jesus, when He was praying for His disciples, tell His Father," I
        will remain in the world no longer?" John 17:11

A:    Jesus Christ was praying to His Father and He knew that His earthly 
       ministry and His being in the world would remain no longer.  But He
       also knew that His eleven remaining disciples had to remain in the
       world and to carry on His behalf.  And  yes He knew, He would be
      very shortly returning back to the Father.   John 17:11

A:   He was petitioning His Father to  protect all of them for His own sake.
       Knowing fully they would need protection from:  the world, the flesh
        and the devil.  He was beseeching His Father, that they would be as
       united with one  another, as they both were.   

Q and A:  [Why did Jesus know His disciples were divided and not being 
                united?   Because even during His last supper with them, before
               His Crucifixion--they were still fighting over who would be the 
               greatest of them.  

              By being placed in authority over the others and thus being in 
              charge.  By being greater than the rest of the others.   Even
             when Jesus consonantly told them; it wasn't suppose to be
             that way among them.]
