ever since I can remember I have known bullies
it began in grammar school
           I was different
part Ojibway .... they called me Indian Princess
but not in a nice way
my grandma only found out she had been taken
later in life and was brought up white
but she embraced her heritage
             and passed the teachings to me
I told my father what they were calling me
and he said, they are right
you are a Princess ... so the next time they did
to my back I swung my long raven hair around
smiled and said thank you
strength of character can move mountains

things were not much better in high school
especially the girls ...  I suppose it was jealousy
I did have a look though I have never considered
myself beautiful... but they hated me anyways
I did not like school and did not excel
though this never stopped me moving mountains

when I began working as a nurse
I thought things would be better but no they were not
and I was bullied by co-workers
and even superiors 
I would look in the mirror and ask why
yet, the patients and families loved me
and that love moved mountains for me

even recently in dance class a few woman are being
mean to me, pushing me around
these are adults not kids
and not wanting to cause a problem
I have taken it and turned away
but no more, sorry dad the stronger person does not
walk away, but speaks up
and I am waiting for them to open their mouths
please open your evil mouths I have a speech ready
I am so strong I can move a mountain

and just yesterday a so called friend, was mean to me
not the first time, but I have swallowed it before
not this time.... enough is enough
           she was shocked when I said we are finished
don't come near me again, or call or message me ever
and I walked away  .. and gosh that felt good
                       evil comes in many forms

but, if a person has strength of character, courage 
    and determination, if one is fearless and a warrior
and believes that Jesus is with you
after all was he, not bullied ....
              then, each person can move mountains
