Poem
The Seed of God First there was only the void, A deep well of nothing. And it came to pass that deep within the void, there was a great explosion, And that explosion was a primal scream. The scream was without sense and thought. The scream was not chosen because there was no choice. The scream was existence itself. From the scream, there came time And the void was no longer alone, For now there was something, And from that something, other things. Simple things. The scream stopped, and Took in a deep breath. Simple things became more complex. Dust became rocks and rocks became planets. The great explosion sent stars throughout. Some planets gathered atmospheres. And, Eventually, there was life. Still, the primal scream, existence itself, Watched without eyes, listened without ears. There eventually became organisms, And later, organisms that had thought. As these things developed, so did the scream. Finally, there came Man. And with Man came complex thought. And the scream watched, and listened, And grew more complex, too. Man tried to understand His universe And looked for something to worship. He started with the Sun and he bowed to it. The scream watched, and said yes, I will be the Sun. I will be God. And he sent light, and heat. But the Sun was not enough for Man. Man harnessed His fear, His worries, and Found new gods to worship. Angry gods, vengeful gods, and He made sacrifices. Yes, thought God, I will be angry and vengeful. And I will smite, and I will punish. Just as was written in Their books. Some tried to speak with God, And to some, God chose to reply, For now He had words and awareness. But he was still angry and vengeful. He was still like the Sun, still enamored with screaming. And because Man worshipped angry gods, He was angry. But it came to pass that there was a Man Who spoke to God, and God spoke to Him. And this Man preached of forgiveness And compassion, and love, and redemption, and God listened to Him, and He was moved. And Just as Man followed Him, so too did God, And God created a place for Him in the heavens. Finally, God looked down upon Man, And saw all the gods to whom They prayed, And thought, I will be God for all of Them. If they seek anger and vengefulness, so will they have it. If they seek redemption and love, so will I give it. For I can be everything to everyone, Or nothing at all.
