Eventually both Esau and Jacob made a temporary truce with each other; which lasted as long as they both lived most likely only. In ancient Biblical times, being a barren child-less woman was considered to be ' a curse among women.' Whose primary purpose for their creation was child birth. Thus Sarah 'was despised in Hagar's eyes, Sarah retaliated and Hagar ran away from her. But an angel told Hagar to return to her mistress, Sarah. Because Ishmael was Abraham's first born son, she wrongfully assumed that he had the right to the inheritance due to a Hebrew first born son. Consisting of both the birth right and the first born blessing. She coached her son Ishmael into be living that he was entitled, and Issac was not. Which is why at Issac's weening ceremony, that Abraham held in honor of his son Issac. Ishmael, openly mocked his younger sibling, Issac and Sarah observed it all. ''Get rid of that slave woman and her son will never share in the inheritance with my son, Issac."Genesis 21:10 NIV Abraham was distressed because of his son. "But God said to him, "Do not be distressed about the boy and your maidservant. Listen to whatever Sarah tells you, because it is through Issac that your offspring will be reckoned. I will make the son of the maidservant into a nation also, because he is your offspring." Genesis 21:12-13 The Arabs claim today that Ishmael is the son of promise, Hagar was Abraham's wife and Sarah, was the bond servant and her son Issac was his bond servant's son. Yet, they rightly claim Abraham as their "Father Abraham" and revere his memory deeply. It is all about the birth rights and the blessings due a first born son and whose generations will inherit the promise land. Most likely that's what the Arabs passed down from Ishmael right down to Muhammad himself. Although both Ishmael and Issac claimed to be Abraham's son of the promise. It is God, Himself who has the final say. It is the nation of Israel that is the apple of His eye; it is the old City of Jerusalem where God engraved His own name, the Jews are His elected and chosen people. He chose to be the human linage of his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. God was actively searching both in the times of Noah, Abram and Lot, Issac and his son Jacob. "The older will serve the younger" comparing Esau to Jacob. It was from the House of Judah's House of David, Messiah came and from Levi's tribe of Aaron, priests still come.
