Poem
I watched the shadows move and the curtain rise, and the moon suddenly appear from underneath the star lit skies, the clouds drift slowly and fade in the dark, and a bright light suddenly appeared out of nowhere and a faint voice rose up out of the deep and said, “You have nothing fear.” It moves towards the center and starts to sing, and the voice become stronger and stronger, and the light grows dim. And the spotlight fades in on a figure standing at up stage right. I could feel a sudden jerk on the floor and the light illuminates in the audience and the figure on the stage began to speak: My soul is vexed with thee as I search the ultimate end of the sea, I walk on the vision less hope of man, trying to find the scale to compose a realistic song. It is not the song that you often hear; it is not the song that you sometimes compare, it is the song that brought us all together, it is the song we will sing when our hearts can feel one another. You are sitting in those theater seat and I am standing guard up here on the stage, and the Universe is negotiating over there, you, mankind is a stubborn lot and you have to give it all that you have got. Why do you speak peace when your heart is full of hate, why do you speak peace when you want to push me through the gate? My heart murmur when I hear you sing because you cannot compose a perfect rhythm. Why do negotiate and come back to sing the same old saggy and distasteful song, you sit for five hours in the meeting, and you don’t have the solution to gather the pebbles from the shore. What do you what from here? Can you see that its pure trouble over here? you have been fighting for the land that span over seven generations, you have shed a hundred thousand liters of blood, you have dug mass grave in the mountain that meets with the sun, and you keep fighting for your life. A billion gallon of water busts from the dam and covers the entire land, the sun has dried it out, but you still continue to fuss and shout. What do you want of this barren land, with thorns and thistles baked inside and dead man bodies pile on top of one another like firewood waiting to be burnt. Looked at the blood-soaked earth all the tree roots are buried below, and the trees are absorbing the substance from the earth. If you tell me what you want, I can meet you halfway and we can get the deal done before the end of day. Country women and countrymen open your heart and let the cage passion sing, I can feel the tension rising up in my chest and the universe is standing guard above the sea protecting you and me; big boats are coming in so open your heart and let us all sing.
