There are several You Tube Biblical scholars that the current Israel VS Hamas war which started on October 07, 2023 will expand into territory covered in Psalms 83 commonly referred to: The Great Northern War and the Psalms 83 war. The list of Israel's adversaries are the states boarding closely to the nation of Israel, itself. But the list is given in names those nations used in Old Testament Biblical times and not their contemporary twenty-first century names. This writer, has heard the modern equivalents of those nations, but will conduct her own research concerning their modern names. Psalm 83 O God do not keep silent; be not quite, O God. be not still. See how your enemies are astir, how your foes rear their heads. With cunning they conspire against your people; they plot against those you cherish. *"Come, they say, "let us destroy them as a nation, that the name of Israel be remembered no more."* With one mind they plot together; they form an alliance against you-- the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, of Moab and the Hagrites, Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek, Philista, with the people of Tyre. Even Assyria has joined them to lend their strength to the descendants of Lot. Do to them as you did to Midian, as you did to Sisera and Jabin at the river Krishon, who perished at Endor and became like refuse on the ground. Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, all of their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna, * who said, "Let us take possession of the pasture lands of God."* Make them like the tumbleweed, O my God, like chaff before the wind. As fire consumes the forest or a flame sets the mountains ablaze, so pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your storm. Cover their faces with shame so that men will seek your name, O LORD. May they ever be ashamed and dismayed; may they perish in disgrace. Let them know that you, whose name is the LORD--- that you alone are the Most High over all of the earth. I did not use the verse numbers and the breaks are mine own for clarification purposes. Clearly the psalmist wants the LORD GOD, to treat their modern enemies the same as He did their former foes. Those nations against the nation of Israel, never did gather together in ancient times. The Pslams 83 War, is a modern war that is currently underway in it's beginning stages, but it will set the entire region ablaze! Leading unto the Gog and Magog War! Sincerely, Roxanne Lea Dubarry Roxy Lea 1954/ October Country December 27, 2023
