*To fully appreciate this a person would have to be at least somewhat familiar with the movie: Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure "Dude, here's a heads up - ENTROPY BITES!" said Bill as he limped up to the table. "Waitress, coffee on the dark, please. Uh, as I was saying, I got a real problem with the bogus way things are being done. The world seems to be hurtling headlong into destruction (no thanks to a certain heinous species which, for the moment, shall remain unnamed), the sun is gonna burn out and the universe is deffo gonna collapse in on itself someday. I gotta tell ya bro, sometimes I don't know why I bother getting outta bed in the morning." "Whoa dudikoff, you've got a most gnarly dilemma. Things appear rather odious from a layman's point of view," replied Ted. "But check it out. I don't embrace such an egregious worldview anymore. Let me scope it out for ya pal: You see, I believe in hope. Now some will say that hope is something intangible, ethereal, that you can't see, smell, taste, hear or touch it. But I say hope is as real as you and I, Willy. The world may indeed be spinning out of control, yet there are good things too. The skies are vast and blue with beautiful and diverse winged creatures gracing the heavens. The aquamarine oceans span the horizon and are filled with living things beyond measure. The mountains and valleys are lush with greenery and moving creatures that fill us with awe and wonder. And I'll tell you something else Billy, I believe in God. I know, I know, it's the taboo thing we never discuss. But I've come to realize that there is and must be a higher purpose to life than just eating, drinking and sleeping. There will be a paradise on earth someday, my friend. It might not come today or tomorrow, but it will arrive and right on schedule. You see, this is the very essence of hope; the belief that things will get better, that justice will reign supreme, that love is and will remain the universal foundation stone upon which mankind will create a kinder, gentler world. It is near, my friend. But first, a time of troubles. Buckle up..." "Quadruple whoa, Teddy. For a moment there you seemed like you were in some kind of way excellent trance. Was that poetry coming outta your mouth dude? Totally outstanding. I'd like to hear more on this hope thingy but I gotta run. My not so bodacious boss said I'd better not be late again. See ya." As Bill walked away Ted couldn't help but notice the limp was gone. Indeed, it might even be said that he had a most triumphant spring in his step.
