Poem
When I first entered this world, Born to a mom who was so full of love, A tear stung my eyes – a tear, Proof that I was alive, so very alive! When I felt the pain that reminds My heart to repent, lament, mourn, All those feelings – a tear fell, Proof that I could feel, yes – I could feel! When I lost a friend, a hole was torn, Where their light had shined, Where their love had grown – a tear dripped, Proof that my friend had glistened in my heart! When I knew the warmth, the gentling, My first kiss – tingling, trembling… A tear broke free and slowly slid from my soul, Proof that I was awestruck by this embrace of hope! When I dreamed my dreams, And my dreams came true at last, I knew the wonder of joy, a tear assured me, Proof that I could touch the song from my soul! When I met my husband, the love, Who forced me to admit I was stunned, By the music I heard when he smiled, I cried. Proof that he would become a light to my night. When I reached beyond my fears, Cried some happy tears… Because love had erased all the dread… Proof that I could find relief in a tear. When I ached to know a heart, Stirred by the winds of affection, A tear promised me that I could believe, Proof that this love can be seen! When I reached out to the One who saves, Felt the forgiveness, redeeming… Tears marked the moment I felt His grace, Proof that His love had made a way! When I met love without looking back, Seeking only to give all I had, One tear reminded me to share… Proof that, with love, anything is possible! When I left the past behind me, Reaching into the promise of what’s ahead, I felt a tear of gratitude, blessing, Proof that I’d meet the future with recognition! When I yearned for the love I now have, Without knowing what would be, I felt the tears wrenching my heart, my life, Proof that my feelings were meant to be felt! When I sat in silence, mourning, Smiling despite my sadness, A tear reached out to express, Proof that, when I feel, I’m not less! When the ache of darkness beckoned, And, my tears – sometimes still – exclaimed… Without a doubt, each tear is a lesson, Proof that, as I wept – each teardrop is sacred! When I first entered this world, Born to a mom who was so full of love, A tear stung my eyes – a tear, Proof that I was alive, so very alive! From the eyes of a child… Every tear releases light, bruised By the feelings that come to hearts… Who know that love is the only hope we have! From the heart of a child… Never forget – love’s tear is shed, Then saved by the soul who can see… Reflected in that tear is a big part of me!
