Written 12 December 2023 Transmutation Poetry Contest Sponsored by Unseeking Seeker Transmutation Whether transmutation of energy Is a valid human concept Dates back to the days of antiquity; Deeply long rooted in Vedic precepts It focuses on seven main sources Of key internal energy channels To attain the sublime grace of moksha And has been reckoned by expert panels As a means of self-realisation And attainment of liberation From the vicious cycle of death and birth In the grim material planet of earth. Such a line of thought blazed my mind When waking up in prime of morn, Flowing streams of energy, I did find Within myself as if I was reborn With the I and the ego fully shorn, With my spirit deep filled with cheer My mind reposed as crystal clear My head and heart with love endeared Boundaries beyond horizons Beckoning my soul without fear. When deep within myself I scanned To probe into the enquiry It dawned on me that in night`s span On wings of spirituality I had soared up high in the sky, Until haze of sleep glazed my eyes, By channeling mind`s energy Through transmutation synergy To the peak and crown of the head Where deep self- awareness does tread. In line with prime laws of physics Not denied by rules of ethics, Energy can`t be created Nor destroyed, but just transmuted From one form to another form, From material to mental form, And to spiritual stance therefrom The depth of the inner self to scan, Inner energy to expand And inner obstacles to strand. For those who cross material gates, Transmutation of energy From mental to spiritual state To spur internal synergy Is a long challenging process Involving exhaustive access To the deepest inner recess Where blows no woeful wind of stress. It needs putting the mind to rest Dimming the sight to the surround Focusing with depth on one`s breath Chaining thoughts from turning round Freeing oneself from all passions Engaging deep meditations On essence of the inner self And full awareness of oneself. For a while one may feel dismayed With one`s nearby environment, One may experience disarray Verging on the brink of torment Brimming into disturbing waves Of unease and disquietude And becoming subservient slave To the whims of the multitude. Unlike man of antiquity Few do resort to seclusion In complete tranquility For intensive meditation Under shade of a forest tree Or in the midst of a desert For long solitary days, free, Their spiritual stance to assert. Unlike butterflies that do hatch From eggs to the stage of larvae That greenish leafy food do slash In time to turn to pupae Surrounded by protective cells That soon transmute to butterflies Scanning flower buds for their smell As they wander along the sky, A man under transmutation Has to tread slowly down the lane, In absence of full seclusion, To meditate on level plane And slowly reach the inner depth Of lasting happiness and peace And over time the widest breadth Of permanent spiritual bliss. Else, man`s spiritual voyage May be bound in deep miseries Like a march for one`s pupilage On scorching sand dunes with worries Of crossing an Eastern desert To reach an oasis of peace, One`s spiritual stance to assert And one`s final goal not to miss. The end goal of transmutation Is to cross the gate of manhood And reach through deep meditation The wonderful stage of sagehood Where the I and ego do melt To give way for kindness to dwell With seedbed of sagacity Rooted in spirituality. Its outcome is deep peace of mind With the inner self deep refined With gleams of light blazing the soul Poised to merge with the Supreme Whole After its full liberation By din of Divine compassion From the shackles of death and birth On the human planet of Earth.
