Have you ever had to live with a father who abused the ones you loved?
Ever had to sit back and pray because it is just too much?
Ever had to live up to the potential of someone else and fail?
Ever had to face the world with battle marks and cover up the pain?
Are you that same person who cried months over a mistake you never will be able to change 
or forget?
Maybe you have but you could be the main one who points your finger at me.
You don't know my odds and how im beating them through my passion.
You don't see my scares behind my beauty and that's because you don't know me.

I see these people who fight everyday with battles within themselves
Trying to figure out who they are.
Some of us are not walkin around looking for sympathy because we don't want others to see 
us for who we really are.
While others of us are searching for a place of peace.
Sometimes our #1 enemy is our own self lacking courage and faith

Have you ever wondered why some people fight so hard?
Those who lack of a sense, support, money, parents?
Those who have dependents?
Those who have been hurt physically, mentally and emotionally?

We got peers who quit school to support their families.
They join the military because they desire to be broken down to be built back up,
when thinkin like a child has not place to exist when success is needed.

These are the same people who rise up and break they odds
Becasue they had the passion enough to say 
"i am better than they make me out to be"
They take a negative comment as a challenge and wont stop till the outcome is complete.
Someones who said " u wont make it"
"u aint smart enough" " u not good enough" 
are the kinds of people who never amount to anything.

See struggles every day, but there is something that keeps us fighting
Fightin for respect, justice, love, others, life, and a prize!
We are the Diamonds in the Rough!!!!

I see my odds out of the same eyes I create potential
U may see ur odds as nothing more than just a negative
Tell me that I'm stupid for staying,
I'll show you how it made me stronger.
Tell me that God will never forgive me
I'll show you through my works that He lives in me
Tell me I'll never be strong enough,
I'll show you while you are my foot stool that my weight is far too much for you to carry.

Beating the odds takes time
Its a game that you win or loose
Beat the odds and don't let the odds beat you!
