Poem

Let’s play a game, shall we?
It’s like ‘the Game of Life’,
but set in ancient history.

A skilled warrior with a strong shield,
You travel around the land,
learning something new in every field.
There are different stages to your journey, 
Paths you must take, 
choices you must make. 
Roll the dice and control your destiny.

You start as a mere squire to a corrupt knight. 
Is his the path you follow,
Or for honour, you shall fight?
There are many obstacles to overcome, 
Choose wisely,
or you may end up as a lowly scum. 
To fame and fortune will you rise? 
It will not be easy,
as power comes at a price.

As you progress in the game,
There are many friends or allies to make,
Will kingdoms far and wide know your name?
You could be the ruler of a mighty empire,
The possibilities are endless,
Will it be acres of land or a beautiful wife that you acquire?

You may have to pick up a card or two,
For chance has a role to play,
to determine what's in store for you.
Will you be captured by the enemy,
to die as a prisoner,
or survive and leave behind a legacy?

There will be times when there will be a moral conflict,
manipulation, betrayal, cheating, lying,
Just how much pain are you willing to inflict?
You could also lead a pious life,
A great ruler or a loyal husband;
the patriarch who looks after his kids and wife. 
Your choices help you gain a skill,
hunting, fishing, fighting, building,
To reach the top, are you willing to kill?

It will be interesting to see how you will meet your end,
will it be as a lonely warrior lost at sea,
or in your bed surrounded by many a friend?
I hope you are slightly convinced,
Because this game I highly recommend.
