Poem
Beneath cold night skies is where I find the greatest of comforts My beloved Goddess the moon my company and protector in the dark Lighting up the earth dimly with a glow that comes in phases Energy always changing, moving inside of my body I keep the lights off so I don't have to see my horrors Holding my crystals charged with essence of moon I can drive the feelings of loneliness away for a time And chant my spells peacefully in the shadows Walking along moonlit beaches, sand between my toes The gentle sound of waves crashing ashore filling my ears The moon's reminder that she is ever present As I tread through the water, collecting beautiful seashells My heart beats to the cycle of the moon It's steady rhythm dictating my followed paths Hoping for the guidance to avoid those who have harmed The innocence that has been stripped of my soul Staring daggers with my eyes into the unknown who walk my way Kindness has proven only to cause harm to a fragile beauty Disguising yourself as venomous to strike fear into predators The way one such as myself has adapted to survive For I have trusted a many souls with my icy heart before And received betrayal threefold to each of them In solitude is the only way I feel truly safe from my demons Legions of the seen and the unseen chasing me down But I cast my chants and write hither in runes That I may create at least one safe place for me It's barriers receiving a neverending bashing So that it must always be renewed under the full moon Broken is myself to let another in, to let another hold me Daymares of my past that only vanish under a lunar blanket Perhaps one day I shall find another to slowly heal my wounded spirit Until then, the moon above is my one true love
