I am more than you see
So much more I be
The dirty clothes I wear
The long silvery hair
I have feelings ,I care
I step aside
Your emotions you don't even try to hide
Looking down
Wearing that frown
Thinking I'm a bum
You have no clue where I come from
Didn't ask you for a dime
Not any of your time
Now comes the word rhyme
I know what you see
Thinking your the one free
I have nothing much
No one's loving touch
Maybe I smell
I can't tell
I'm more than you see
God made me
What ever reason
I make it through another season
You walk on by
Nose up high
Why
Afraid of being what you see
That's ok, cause God made me
This rage
I turn the page
Maybe it is my age
You think I'm poor
I'm much more
Your hate
Just not my fate
At any rate
You can hurt my feelings
With hard words or dealings
Heart on my sleeve
Silently I grieve
But on I walk
Don't need your talk
My heart is free
On a bended knee
God made me
I am strong
But time is long
And I fight
To stay in the light
People put me down
But in hate I refuse to drown
I am free
Cause God made me
At times I feel so cold
So old
Find it hard to keep going
It helps knowing
I plant the seed of love and it is growing
A smile
Times been awhile
My soul is free
Cause my God made me
