Poem
Silence is the blending of light and love, The lingering reflections of hope, wisdom, courage… Blessings so pure and amazing they invite… Breathless dreams, broken softly at the edges… Of shadows, promising to believe in the wind’s race, Through the laughing stories, the intimate poetry, Graceful and free… like the music who has wings, Soaring through the stars, racing with the moon, Resembling a peace who is alive, wondering into.. Eternity… A song quiets the limits of uncertainty, Sighing softly, like a heart who trembles – Flooded with tenderness, When the beautiful fades and old age stirs awake Ashes, rising flames… Is this grace? When the last of a heart Beats out its tempo, rhythm chained to the light, Rousing midnight words, the pulsing Cadence coupled with cashmere and violet wishes, Stars flooding the eventual… Silence is the wonder beyond description, Crisp, clean autumn erasing summer’s gentling, Abiding in the dangerous dimensions, Wisdom pouring out her stars, glistening and glad, Healing the heavens and making a way through the past, Reassuring the blessing, giving the spirit permission… Roaming the veins of purity, Evoking so much melancholy, mysterious Winds cursing the insanity of a blizzard, Making its way from the sky to the hushed stillness, An earth who is wordless and wan, Expecting far more than could ever belong, Toward the end of a soundless moment, Silent and frail, feelings dwell… In my heart I must know there will be a promise, Forever broken, never spoken, swearing Wherever I am, wherever I’m going, there is peace, Peace overflowing the banks of this river called light, This feeling so alive, belonging to the wonders – Just below the hesitant grief, grief who gently sings, Lyrics haunting as leftover secrets aching to be told. Like the silence, I linger in the whispers – the sighs, Broken echoes rising in the night, silky as starlight, Blessing every hope and exalting every dream – Harmonizing with silhouettes of laughing spring, While the last melting snows of winter… Tempt the spirit to abide in the muted mess of yesterday’s dread. No, this silence will never be worthy of my faith in love, Love that remembers and restores, realizes… Everywhere – every moment, there is the answer, God’s reply, To prayers who are stacked up like bricks across the alters On every hope, every front porch and every dark night, Wistful, sensing the truth… where there is grace, Where there is love, where there is God, there is silence, Falling through the cracks of a heaven who beckons Even though we sometimes struggle to see the angel’s joy, Joy that comes to life… pearls of faith in every word of praise that permits the heart… To simply see beyond me - into you, Him, an eternity of love!
