Written: September 18, 2023 Unwritten Absence Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Ink Empress ______________________________________________________________ In the absence of ink—in a nexus of poetic dreams, Anathematized by disconsolate on nebulous beams, Whispers of unwritten absence, inveigled by fate, Decry solace in a niche, a motley bosom to conflate With a knavish grin, inveigled by unwritten absence, Lines to untangle as I wander in a realm of silence, Kaleidoscope hues of grace—nebulous and bright, Poet hands waltz—souls aquiver crave for delight. Through fatuous thoughts and maundering dreams, Desultory, odious maxims, akin to gossamer streams In the ferret of eudaemonia—an empyreal bliss, Yearning for an aphonic clangor, an analgesic balm, a kiss. Amidst the quiet path of the mind's arcane domain, Appendence of fatuous motives lets stoicism wane. Asunder, the shrunken views of nonoccurrence fade, Leaving behind a peacefulness, an anencephalic shade Bedraggled daydreamer, beleaguered by strife, Search for balmy zeal—in the realm of life. With any vicissitude exodus, a lackluster goodbye, Caterwauling climbs on cosmic casts, cutting cry Abjured animus, aphonic ataxia astray at the abyss, A flash of fountainhead in a fog of freshness to fix. Aching for a quiet mind, In the realm of tacit verse, Where anencephalic thoughts and reality rehearse, With fragmented twigs and weathered trees, Dusks dovetail dead, desert dented, and deals. Through dusk and the chalice of wicked despair, Seeking solace in woodlands—with a grim air In an oasis of burly boldness and spunky defiance, I paint my dreams with plum verses, a poetic alliance, Louring the lines betwixt what's illicit and true, Creating dreamscapes—that only I can pursue In whispers of unwritten absence, unspoken folklore, Where precedent is defied—dreams can soar. With each brushstroke, word, and paint-splattered leaf, I capitalize on the power of dreams, banishing grief. The omission of inquiry—and the stake of hope I pioneer an apogamic peep, phantasms elope, Where the unsent and unspoken find their voice, And the sanguine beats of dreamscapes rejoice. Weave tales of love and loss—where gloom prevails, Forbidden orchards and barren moss, soul unveils, With unwritten absences and fragmented lines, Empower words where beauty flocks intertwine.
