To Those This Brave, True Warrior Is Sworn To One Day Defeat When violet pours its sadden verses onto burning sands and heavens above spit green poison upon savage lands up from murky dark evil caves so very far below down were the wicked witches, red imps and black fairies grow awaits beasts that exist to someday devour this dark world if I get caught, take my soul into space to give it a hurl but I guard my soul with Heaven's bread, its bountiful drinks and in my bad dreams see the monsters as away they slink however, certain nights when blood-moon shows its ugly side down below are ravenous demons that are bonafide beasts that human flesh exist slowly tear apart and eat to those this brave, true warrior is sworn to one day defeat such was the awful sad case on a darken June tenth night when my dear life I almost lost in a horrible fight for that black-night they had such a massive, horrid display in the deep, eerie blackness this soul almost lost its way As from one huge, cavernous, wicked room I simply slid Into that wicked blackness I over and simply hid There, each fierce and each with long sharp fangs and such deadly teeth I feared even greater what beasts exist down beneath I had Achilles sword and my soul holding his great might On my side I had great power of Heaven's glorious light The battle started when first beast jumped to grab my back But to its shock off its ugly head I did quickly hack The next was a large red-eyed three headed massive snake This I saw and prayed help me lord please, for heaven's sake It struck but hit its massive head upon the black stone wall My sword found its true mark and into quick death it did fall Last, certainly not least was one ugly two-headed cat My knife ripped its belly open just as quick as that Then he came forward to me speak to me, his blacken curse Long cried, hate filled speech which he must have oft rehearse About my weaken human flesh and what he would soon do How I would cry out for dear mercy before he was through I just laugh out loud and then I boldly spit in his face And said, no you will not I am covered by Lord's grace At the mere mention of Lord's name, he quickly shrank away I knelt down to my loving, eternal God to then pray. Robert J. Lindley, Rhyme 9-17-2023 Note: I had a dear poet friend here ask me to compose another dark poem for her to read. This request I simply could not turn down. I would post her name and give her credit for getting this dark poem born but she asked me not to. So, in my silence I dedicate this long dark poem to her and her own very massive poetic talents. She inspired me to write today! God bless her. Note to her: My good friend, as I told you I could write you a long dark poem in about an hour. I missed it by only 7 minutes. I wrote this in one hour and 7 minutes.
