Poem

The older I get,
The more more I realize how meaningless to people
In their mind, do I sit
You can send them text after text
Be it friends or family,
It only burdens the one reaching out
It makes my intentions feel like a wreck
I know I may not be the smartest or most successful
But I feel like my value should not be weighed with that in set
But I guess people are mostly vain
Even if they say they believe in God, go to church, make amends
Most of its just for show to hide the rain
Either for themselves or others that they are in debt
I know my poems these days are depressing chunks of sorrow that the world reflects
As the world burns in the cold, their hearts frozen like stone
As the empire of the world tightens It's grip
Choking and attacking the light that we still kept
Smoking out the childlike feelings that most of us now neglect
I just wish to find peace in my life as time begins to stretch
While the days shorten and nights grow longer...
It falls slower in the distance but speeds up like a baseball catch
Maybe one day the Ice around everyones heart will be thawed out and brought rest
After the tribulation that everyone will endure during the this end time tsunami seashore/fetch
Maybe it will wash up on longing and peaceful mountains of joyous lore
As I search within myself until then, digging up gold that I didn't know I bore.
