Poem
Across the water there was a lighted path leading directly to the moon in the early hours of the morning the other day… There have always been things I wanted to ask the moon…things I wanted to say so I decided to test my luck and follow that yellow brick road. to, hopefully, meet up with that bright and shiny circle of gold. When I reached the end of the road and was face to face with the moon I thanked her for providing generations a peaceful place under which people rest and lovers swoon… To tell her that I‘ve loved her…since I was just a little boy… To tell her how, just looking at her, fills my heart with joy. To thank her for teaching me…as she’s floated high above… how I shine even brighter when I’m reflecting another person’s love. For teaching me how to enjoy the good times and weather any strife…. by showing me change can be beautiful…how it’s just a part of life. My question that I asked her in the early hours of the morning… just the other day was how can something that doesn’t breathe…take my breath away. As she illuminated the water…still high above the sea I asked her if she had any secrets…that she could share with me. She smiled down at me and I fell completely under her spell… as she whispered her answer in my ear…but swore me not to tell. I will keep my promise…but if the secrets of the moon you want to unmask… She told me to tell everyone not to worry..all you have to do…is ask.
