Poem
“The Autumn is old; The sere leaves are flying; He hath gathered up gold, And now he is dying…Old age, begin sighing.”- Thomas Hood In the amber hues, kissed by scarlet Soothing whispers in laughing hearts, Music, trembling blues – skies vibrating Cool as the crisp, clear mornings – sunlight Rising through the heavens, erasing the past Making a way for the present, tempting Away the dark with reflections of autumn Trusting stardust dreams, harmonies Taking away the melancholy and painting Promises, precious silence, solitude – In the thoughts, blazing in flames of glorious Sensitivities, gold and tangerine – Caressing the mountains, the leaves Tender like prayers who are prayed by hearts Who know grief, mourning … This is the autumn’s touch, it’s promises Preparing the spirit for snowflake Guarantees, stirring the very breathe with Sentimentality, intimate sighs Released by the clear afternoon, Reflecting on rivers of laughing sprays, Spattering gushes of wet whimsey, Abiding in the songs played out in directions, Unheard of moments healing the past, Silencing gentle colors, golden moments - Mysterious shadows, silhouettes of praise Stirring up hope in flashes, betrayed By the winds, the storms abiding in the heavens, Winds of change, winds of grace – Forever in a chance – a tender embrace The leaves dance, singing through the oaks Pines lifting branches to the skies, Pirouetting, swaying with the curving gales, Blowing like the trembling ache, the heart Who grows wistful at the sight of – Rain blessing, rain racing across the twilight, Hastening past stars, quivering in the soft Nocturnal, singing – bruising the darkness With a feeling, gentling the dusk, Assuring the past there is a moment coming, A blessing, pure and innocent, reaching Beyond the mystery of stardust, Into the wonders of faith, belief auspicious Like the sun, humbling the spirit With kindness, glowing like the murmur Beneath the gurgling brook, slowly Reflecting all the marvels, the truths Singing, risking each melody with hope Oaks and birch, pines in emerald hues Rake the night with branches, Naked from the cold, who is brisk And pierces the thoughts with a stabbing Loneliness, aching to be hushed, Flowing like the river’s liquid blessings, Revealing the floods who once believed They could test the earth and the laurels, Paint the ground with thick, murky Fingers, requesting the beautiful to come Away – panting like the shadows, In pain, wounded by the flashes of lightening, Thunders booming loud, shouting To the heart who knows this is a storm Who remembers only to appreciate The lingering need, the wanting that is lonely, Yet can achieve more with its imperfect Truth than most can accomplish with years, Time being the emotion needed – To teach the autumn to give, to bestow All its leafy memories with blessings, Beautiful and tender – blessing the spirit And the season, with lasting affection, The season of peace, penetrating peace Serenity in the stillness, and calm in the colors – Tempting tranquility forever bustling With quiet richness from the magnificent Ache of an autumn who heals, fulfills, hallows… The season of sincerity – the season of soothing The season of God’s remembrance, His gift To the spirit who needs sanctifying – blessings Autumn’s revelation – clear, cool harmony Graceful and believing, the heart is receiving
