Poem
I remember only an alone bird flying over the high mountains, Its wings painted by the hues of a setting sun, A solitary silhouette against the fading light. In the distance, a sigh left of the old sky, As if bidding farewell to its fleeting memories, From skies a dark was spreading, shadow of the night. Smoke rising from a chimney behind the closed window, The hearth’s warmth lost to the wilderness outside, Yet it danced like a ghostly waltz in the cold air. Invisible tears, like promises unsettled in the wind, Whispered secrets carried far beyond the horizon, Mingling with the echoes of our fading dreams. And your departure, a symphony of sorrow, Echoes in the sad music of my flute, Its haunting melody echoing in the melancholy dusk. After you left, I threw the flute in the nearby stream, Hoping its tune would find love in the flowing water, Carrying my sorrows away to distant lands. I, too, departed, leaving your village behind, Seeking refuge in the depths of faraway hills, Years have passed, and I don’t know if you’re now sad or happy. Yet memories linger like the scent of rain on parched earth, The laughter we shared, the dreams we once dared, Now fragments lost in the web of time. Perhaps, like the alone bird soaring in the sky, You have found new horizons to explore, Or, like the smoke from the chimney, dissipated into the unknown. I, too, have accepted change and surrender, Yet, the strings of my heart are still tethered to the past, To the moments we cherished and the love we once owned. In the realm of uncertainty, I wander, Searching for signs in the shifting winds, Hoping the flute’s song reaches your ears once more. But if fate decides our paths never meet, I’ll cherish the memories we created in that fleeting time, For love’s essence lives on, even when love itself is no more. …
