Fleeing from the shadows
Soundless shadows, like the wind
Dancing through the pines, wind silent 
As the hills, breathing out echoes
From beneath the cool, clear mornings
Shadows pleading for the moments
When yesterday met the heart with prayers,
Descended with the light, faded
Into twilight, the night hesitating to prove
It is like the heart of a hope, hesitating
No more free – always imprisoned
By the yearning born from a heart who believes
Just beyond the shadow, hides the victory
Fleeing from the shadows – a dream
Bright and wonderful, amazing each heart
Who feels its tenderness, intimate
Like the wind who sings into the spirit,
The one who believes – it is there, amid 
The trees, in the wind, behind a shadow
Where light lives, breathing peace 
Answering the griefs, aching to be seen
Submerged in indignities, embracing
Tears that see through the pain, into the darkness
That surrounds me when a shadow
Falls down, erasing the night and kissing
Away all the tragedy that comes from seeing
Into yesterday’s doubt, where there is a memory
Clouded by faith and resonating in prayers
Where I once found a piece of my spirit
Preparing for the way it feels to believe, to just believe
This is wisdom – the wisdom of the trees,
The insight from the wind, the prudence of a heart
A soul who knows, understanding the complexity
In the dream, the fantasy, revealing – the tear’s kiss
Upon a feeling, a breathe of intimacy found beyond the shadows
Where He lifted my spirit – greater than the memory
I believe – I believe, Yes, I believe!
