Poem
Everything around is quiet, not a sound could be heard, except for the engine running up and down the street and the ticking clock erupting my heart beat. I hear the sound of music, a yonder riding with the restless wind and footsteps marching into the square with lots of grievances to share. People of every kindred and race gather into the square, some with hats and some with bats and other riding on horse backs. Jack and Jill made their way through the thick crowd and the people began to shout as they hit the stage, the message was clear and the musical chants begin. Everyone catches on to the rhythm and the people began to sing, the streets light starts to grow dim, the ruthless soldiers suddenly appeared on foot, setting up barricade around the town. The sound of music scattered about and anxious crowd began to shout, they blend in with the musical sound and rock to the beat of the anxious town. The drums began to chime sending a weird message up to the sky, a light from above lit up the crowd and everyone starts dancing about. It went on for more than five minutes and the crowd went insane but the bald eagle touches down on time to stop the bloody sacrifice; the music halted and a sudden silence grip the square. The soldiers stood quiet on the side looking subdued under the mysterious light, the wind began to blow and the speech less people start to flow. They left the square with mouth sealed, and lips tightened and tongue cleaves to the roof of their mouth. They headed straight to their home without looking around; each one kept their focus until the tension was over. This strange scene grips me for days; it swept my entire emotion away and the clock kept ticking away. The clock is moving with the wind and it is urging you to come in; the rain is beating on the roof and it’s time for you to choose. Some people cannot accept defeat and they will crawl on their knees to eat the custard from underneath the table and suck the lollipop that is hidden inside the worker's frock. The clock is ticking and my temperature is rising, I am forty points ahead so get ready to crown the dead, go to the drive-in theater, spread out on the grass and get ready for the film before the hurricane starts. The theater is packed out, the tickets are sold out and people from far and near are watching the proceedings. A hundred billion at the box office a day, that is the price that they had to pay for keeping me hostage in the town for four long years without a staff or crown. The clock is ticking and it’s time to go to the kitchen my money is stacked up to the ceiling it is full to the brim.
